Rudder Upper Stock

Most often used rudder upperstock material are Mild steel, Forged steel and Stainless Steel.

Turning, tapper machining, thread cutting and keyway milling are all done using cnc machine.

The tiller arm is a part of rudder upperstock which can be customized as per the steering gear requirement. The rudder upper stock is bolted to the rudder lower stock by means of Fitbolts which are made out off EN8.

Rudder Tube Assembly

Madras Marine provide our customer a wide range of coices to choose from for Rudder tube assembly. Since the boat hull are made out of different material like Mild steel, Aluminium, GRP and even wood, We at Madras Marine manufacture Rudder tube assembly to match the ship hull requirement.

Rudder Lower Stock

We manufacture two types of rudders

  • Single Cast Rudders
  • Fabricated rudders

Single cast rudder in either manganese bronze or nickel aluminium bronze. this single cast rudders are basically one piece which means there is no separate upper and lower stock. The rudder is casted as a single piece and later machined out in our CNC machine shop.

Fabricated single plate or streamlined NACA shape rudders are manufactured and welded in stainless steel or mild steel. Since these rudders are made using plates it will be lighter in weight when compared with Single cast rudders. All welding is carried out by Class Society approved welders.
